Physical character:

White or tiny yellow crystal or crystal powder. Has sulfurous acid smell. Relative density 1.4. Dissolve in water , aqueous solutions is acidity. Dissolve in glycerin , appreciably dissolve in alcohol. Decomposition easy to touch with damp , divulge on the air easy to become sodium sulfate. Get in touch with strong acid put out sulfur dioxide and generate corresponding salt. Heat to 150 centigrade decomposes.

Use: Be used as decolourant, mordant, reducing agent, latex concreting reagent, and also be used for organic synthesis , pharmacy and spice etc.

Production method:

Absorb method      use soda ash solution to absorb the sulfur dioxide , get sodium pyrosulfite by the abruption and dry .
